Dr. Hiroshi Oyabu, Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Technology and Culture, had given an intersting talk on "Urushi" (Japanese laquer).
He had shown also the present situation of the craftsman of "Urushi".
We are going to visit his institute next time.
Prof. Furuta, Kyoto Prefectural Univeristy had also a talk on
physical properties of wood, and its relatioships to anatomical
features of wood and tree.
For the craftsman, it was a novel way to understand wood.
